1939
The beginnings

LAR is established in Milan, Italy.
The production focuses mainly on sunglasses, combs and cosmetic bags

1941
The war

During the bombings of the WW2 the plant is completely destroyed and the owners decide to move to Formigine (MO)

1946
Sunglasses

LAR produces “the glasses that humiliate the sun” for the US market.

1954
The Nobel Prize

Thanks to the studies of Giulio Natta, winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, Moplen is injected in LAR for the first time in the world

1956
And now… Moplen!

The production of household tools made in Polypropylene begins

1980
Burrs…

The first blow molding machines with an automatic deburring system are designed and manufactured

2012
Change of scenery

The plant is transferred from Formigine (MO) to Campogalliano (MO)

2017
Space is no longer enough

The existing warehouse is expanded by 4,700 m² thanks to the construction of a new storage area

2018
New points of view

A Clean Room is created for the start-up of a new automated production line specializing in Optics

2019
Industrial Packaging

The first fully automated Model Assembly is built

2020
Industry 4.0

BigData, Machine Learning and A.I. tools are activated in the scopes of Predictive Quality and Predictive Maintenance

Focus

LAR focuses its strategy, acquires LEM S.p.A., a historic Made in Italy eyewear manufacturer
